What Are You Doing With Your Gifts?

1 john 5 4

Have A Wonderful And Blessed Day!!! How Do You Spend Your Day!!!

Jude 1:7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

Jude 1:8 Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.

Jude 1:9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.

Jude 1:10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.

Jude 1:11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.

Jude 1:12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;

Jude 1:13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.

Jude 1:14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,

Jude 1:15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

Jude 1:16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage.

Many times you see children who are rebellious, and troublemakers and it is an indication of their “raising”. In many cases you can trace their actions directly back to a lack of discipline and lack of proper training. When you see someone living a wretched sinful lifestyle you may be quick to blame the parents. Sometimes you may be right, but in many cases you may find that you are very wrong. There are many children who were raised in a loving Godly home, taught the ways of God… Chastened when they disobeyed and somewhere along the way they simply REBELLED!! They decided they wanted to live in the world and do what they want to do. They thought their way was the best way.

At the time of King Solomon’s death, The kingdom was blessed with the power & presence of God. After Solomon’s death his son Rehoboam inherited the throne. Solomon is known as being the wisest man who has ever lived, Rehoboam did not inherit his father’s wisdom. In fact Rehoboam was foolish and wicked. He is a perfect example of being raised in a godly home and made the choice to walk away from God, and the right things. As a result of his foolish actions, 10 of the 12 tribes rebelled against Rehoboam, they divided Israel into two kingdoms North & South. The southern Kingdom chose Jeroboam to be their king The Northern Kingdom left the worship of God and began to worship idols. Rehoboam, remained as king of Judah,

Rehoboam is a prime example that proves that children can be raised in a Godly home and rebel against their raising and against the God of their fathers. As a result of his rebellion, Rehoboam and the people of his Kingdom suffered greatly.

Rehoboam Neglected His Responsibilities – v1 And it came to pass, when Rehoboam had established the kingdom, and had strengthened himself, he abandoned the law of the LORD, and all Israel with him. He Neglected His Responsibilities Concerning Service

As King, Rehoboam should have offered service and devotion to the Lord. Rehoboam forsook his upbringing. David had his issues and Solomon wasn’t perfect but Rehoboam was taught the ways of the Lord. There are many adults out there today who were raised by Godly parents and taught the ways of the Lord but they have rejected the teaching of their fathers.

“strengthened himself” this speaks of the pride of Rehoboam.

This is a common problem among people today. They have been taught the ways of the Lord, yet they seek to live life on their own terms. They attempt to succeed on by their own power and through their own strength!

2Chronicles 12:1 And it came to pass, when Rehoboam had established the kingdom, and had strengthened himself, he forsook the law of the LORD, and all Israel with him.

2Chronicles 12:2 And it came to pass, that in the fifth year of king Rehoboam Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had transgressed against the LORD,

2Chronicles 12:3 With twelve hundred chariots, and threescore thousand horsemen: and the people were without number that came with him out of Egypt; the Lubims, the Sukkiims, and the Ethiopians.

2Chronicles 12:4 And he took the fenced cities which pertained to Judah, and came to Jerusalem.

2Chronicles 12:5 Then came Shemaiah the prophet to Rehoboam, and to the princes of Judah, that were gathered together to Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said unto them, Thus saith the LORD, Ye have forsaken me, and therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shishak.

2Chronicles 12:6 Whereupon the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said, The LORD is righteous.

2Chronicles 12:7 And when the LORD saw that they humbled themselves, the word of the LORD came to Shemaiah, saying, They have humbled themselves; therefore I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance; and my wrath shall not be poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.

2Chronicles 12:8 Nevertheless they shall be his servants; that they may know my service, and the service of the kingdoms of the countries.

2Chronicles 12:9 So Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, and took away the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king’s house; he took all: he carried away also the shields of gold which Solomon had made.

2Chronicles 12:10 Instead of which king Rehoboam made shields of brass, and committed them to the hands of the chief of the guard, that kept the entrance of the king’s house.

2Chronicles 12:11 And when the king entered into the house of the LORD, the guard came and fetched them, and brought them again into the guard chamber.

2Chronicles 12:12 And when he humbled himself, the wrath of the LORD turned from him, that he would not destroy him altogether: and also in Judah things went well.

2Chronicles 12:13 So king Rehoboam strengthened himself in Jerusalem, and reigned: for Rehoboam was one and forty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the LORD had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there. And his mother’s name was Naamah an Ammonitess.

2Chronicles 12:14 And he did evil, because he prepared not his heart to seek the LORD.

2Chronicles 12:15 Now the acts of Rehoboam, first and last, are they not written in the book of Shemaiah the prophet, and of Iddo the seer concerning genealogies? And there were wars between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually.

2Chronicles 12:16 And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David: and Abijah his son reigned in his stead.

This is no different than the way many live their lives today! You have the Word of God and in fact it is more accessible today than ever before, but you never use it! Why? Because of pride, because you have control and don’t need the Word of God messing up your plans!!
We have it so easy here in America can read the word of God daily, live it, and don’t.

Rehoboam’s pride & sin not only affected himself but also the entire nation of Israel. Men are told to be spiritual leaders of the house. Women are told to be a helpmete to our husbands, to honour him, and love him. The Lord takes these commands very seriously.

Rehoboam Did Not Fear Discipline, And it came to pass, that in the fifth year of king Rehoboam Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had transgressed against the LORD.

Here we see that the sins of Rehoboam result in the chastisement Rehoboam and Israel sinned and God used Shishak and Egypt as his method of punishment. God sends the Egyptians to take away all their gold and their valuables. God used the people of the world to chasten His people.God saved us to deliver us from our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. He wants to use us for His glory. Are you doing what you have been called to do? Are you living as one changed by the hand of God? If you are not, He will chastise you because you are his child.

Chastisement is real! If you are squandering the opportunities and talents that God has given you, you will face discipline from your Heavenly Father. While here even tho we know our Father can see and hear us, we don’t really put a lot of thought into discipline, until it happens.

Here is a man who not only inherited the throne. He inherited a legacy. He was taught right from wrong. He had the knowledge, the ability and the opportunity to do great things He chose to squander all that had been given to him, and do things his way. All he did was make a mess. And he didn’t even care.

Each day is an opportunity for us to serve our Precious Lord. What will we do with the gifts and talents we have been given? If we waste what we have been given we should plan on some form of disciplinary action. We may take it lightly but our Lord does not take it lightly.

Embrace the God of the Word.

Be conformed to the character of God.

Believe the Word of God.

2John 1:6 And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.

2John 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

2John 1:8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.

2John 1:9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

1John 5:1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.

1John 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

1John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

1John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

1John 5:5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

All to Jesus I surrender
All to Him I freely give
I will ever love and trust Him
In His presence daily live
All to Jesus I surrender
Humbly at His feet I bow
Worldy pleasures all forshaken
Take me, Jesus, take me now,

I surrender all
I surrender all
All to Thee my blessed Savior
I surrender all
All to Jesus I surrender
Make me Savior wholly thine
May Thy Holy Spirit fill me
May I know Thy power divine

I surrender all
I surrender all
All to Thee my blessed Savior
I surrender all
I surrender all
I surrender all
All to Thee my blessed Savior
I surrender all
I surrender all
All to Thee my blessed Savior
I surrender all

God Bless
