Great Old Fashioned Preaching Is So Needed!!!

1 PETER 1 18 19

Have a Wonderful And Blessed Day!!! Good Old Fashioned Preaching!!!

Luke 13:2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?

Luke 13:3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Luke 13:4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?

Luke 13:5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Psalm 11:1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. In the LORD put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?

Psalm 11:2 For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart.

Psalm 11:3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

Psalm 11:4 The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD’S throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.

Psalm 11:5 The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

Psalm 11:6 Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.

Psalm 11:7 For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.

What would happen in our world now top sit through a message by the following great Preachers:

Dr Jack Hyles

Brother Lester Roloff

Evangelist Billy Sunday

Pastor Charles Spurgeon

If they preached on the following verse: Psalm 11:6 Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.

Brimstone was not only associated with the wrath of God or judgment but it was also used as a purifying agent, would burn brimstone to ward off evil and disease. That is, the brimstone is used to purify the land from evil.

In our wicked world people will not tolerate “true Preaching”, they want feel good preaching. They want to be entertained at Church they want to go in a building be served coffee and donuts, put their feet up, listen to pretty music, not hymns, and listen to how good they are. If one of the above greats came in to Preach chances are many would get up and leave.

2Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

2Timothy 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

2Timothy 4:5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

Why would people leave? They hate the truth, they don’t want the truth, I am not talking about just the lost, I am talking about us the children of our Precious Lord. To preach against sin anymore is death to a Good, godly Pastor. What a Pastor is told to do according to the word of God, is no longer welcome.

John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

John 14:18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

1Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

1Corinthians 1:19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.

1Corinthians 1:20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

1Corinthians 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

It is such a sad pathetic, wicked world when we have come to a time when we would rathe wallow in sin, filth, and willing die and go to hell rather than live a clean pure life. Christian it is even worse for us, to go where we can feel good about our sin, compare ourselves to others knowing just how wrong, and wicked this truly is. Our Precious Lord was beaten, his beard plucked out from his face, spit upon. Roman soldiers flogged Jesus with a whip, drove a crown of thorns into His scalp, beat His head with sticks and mockingly pretended to worship Him. The flogging alone—which would have involved leather cords with pieces of lead or bone attached—would have drained much of Jesus’ blood. He knew no sin, and yet carried ours. Yet let us not have to sit for an hour service and hear how we should live, or have the Pastor raise his voice at us and hurt our feelings.

Matthew 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

Matthew 16:25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

Matthew 16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Matthew 16:27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.

Matthew 16:28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

I wish we had some Billy Sinday’s around, some Dr Jack Hyles’s, to set many straight. these men would have failed at one thing (I realize they were not perfect) POLITICAL CORRECTNESS. They would have preached what the Bible said, and would not have backed down. I am grateful for the Pastors that are still willing to Preach about hell, sin, brimstone. It is needed maybe more today than it was 100 years ago, 50 years ago.

1Peter 3:8 Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:

1Peter 3:9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

1Peter 3:10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:

1Peter 3:11 Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.

1Peter 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

1Peter 3:13 And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?

1Peter 3:14 But and if ye suffer for righteousness’ sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;

1Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Romans 8:10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

Behold, behold the wondrous love,
That ever flows from God above
Through Christ His only Son, who gave
His precious blood our souls to save.

All praise and glory be unto Jesus
For He hath purchased a full salvation;
Behold how wondrous the proclamation,
“Whosoever will may come!”

Behold a fountain in His side,
To all the world is opened wide;
Where all may come, by sin oppressed,
And find in Him sweet peace and rest.

All praise and glory be unto Jesus
For He hath purchased a full salvation;
Behold how wondrous the proclamation,
“Whosoever will may come!”

Behold Him now exalted high
Above the bright and starry sky;
Yet through His Word He calleth still,
“Come unto Me,” whoever will.

All praise and glory be unto Jesus
For He hath purchased a full salvation;
Behold how wondrous the proclamation,
“Whosoever will may come!”

Behold in Him the Living Way,
That onward leads to endless day;
Where, saved by grace, the ransomed throng
Lift up the everlasting song.

All praise and glory be unto Jesus
For He hath purchased a full salvation;
Behold how wondrous the proclamation,
“Whosoever will may come!”

God Bless

Love and Prayers Cheryl
