Run The Race and Don’t Give Up.

Have A Wonderful Day!!! Finish The Race!!!

Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

1Corinthians 9:24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.

1Corinthians 9:25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.

1Corinthians 9:26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:

1Corinthians 9:27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

This life we are in is a race, a race is to be won. When we are experiencing pain and we’re struggling to finish the race, we can be confident that we have a loving Father who won’t let us do it alone. He left His place in heaven to come alongside us in the person of His Son, Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

The Reasons for Finishing the Race.
Consider all the models in the Bible who finished well. I begin in the Old Testament. Moses has so much promise, made such a mess of his life, wound up on the back side of no where, and yet, didn’t give up. Even when it would have been easier to walk away, he stayed with it.

David is another who could have walked away. After confronted by Nathan about his adultery with Bathsheba and his murder of Uriah, David could have become defensive, killed Nathan, & walked away from becoming a man after God’s own heart.

I think of Peter in the New Testament. Just exactly how many times did Peter put his foot in his mouth and yet, Peter was there to preach the message at Pentecost, be the bearer of the Good News to the Jews, and penned at least 2 books of the Bible.

Paul had many opportunities to quit and walk away, yet he endured despite all that anyone could to do him. As a result of his faithfulness to duty, Paul had no fear of facing the Lord, the righteous Judge, but only anticipation of reward in the form of a crown of righteousness which was already waiting in store for him.
Because of the Mission – Paul completed His course or his race only when he felt his race, mission, was completed. On the Damascus Road and as he was a disciple he come to understand that the Lord had a mission for him. That mission was to “carry the name Jesus” to the gentiles. Just as surely as God called Paul and every other believer in the New Testament to a specific mission, he calls you and me. He doesn’t just call “Preachers” and “Church Staff “, He calls every believer to a specific mission. His mission for you and me is not small and is not for the faint of heart nor the weak minded. Those words in Jeremiah should ring in our ears:

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Remember rewards here in this carnal wicked world mean nothing. They will burn, and tarnish. True rewards are meaningful, and lasting in Heaven for all eternity. We are here to run and win this race for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are to live as CHRISTIANS; to do the following:

  • Tell others of Christ, and his free gift of SALVATION.
  • We have to live in this world but not as the world.
  • Always be ready with an answer.
  • Always have our Lights SHINING.
  • Don’t give Room To Satan, He gets plenty of room all by HIMSELF.

Philippians 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 3:15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

Philippians 3:16 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.

Philippians 3:17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.

2Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

2Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

2Timothy 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

2Timothy 4:5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

James 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

James 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

James 4:9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.

James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

O Christian, awake! ’tis the Master’s command;
With helmet and shield, and a sword in thy hand,
To meet the bold tempter, go, fearlessly go,
Then stand like the brave, with thy face to the foe.

Stand like the brave, stand like the brave,
Stand like the brave, with thy face to the foe.

The cause of thy Master with vigor defend;
Be watchful, be zealous, and fight to the end;
Wherever He leads thee, go, valiantly go,
Then stand like the brave, with thy face to the foe.

Stand like the brave, stand like the brave,
Stand like the brave, with thy face to the foe.

Press on, never doubting, thy Captain is near,
With grace to supply, and with comfort to cheer;
His love like a stream in the desert will flow;
Then stand like the brave, with thy face to the foe.

Stand like the brave, stand like the brave,
Stand like the brave, with thy face to the foe.

God Bless

Love and Prayers, Cheryl
