Making Decisions According To the Bible!!

1-corinthians-10-31

Have A Wonderful and Blessed Day!!! Making Decisions!!!

Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

Matthew 7:8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

What should we do when we have to make an important decision? The Bible says, “Seek and you will find, ask and it will be given to you, knock and the door will be opened to you.”

People do different things when they have a difficult decision to make.

• Draw straws…..short one gets thrown overboard

• Some people flip a coin and say “If it’s heads, I’ll do this and if it is tails, I’ll do that.” I can remember doing that when I was a little girl. If it came up tails and that wasn’t what I wanted to do, I’d flip it again and say, “Let’s try two out of three.” I’d just keep flipping until I got the answer I wanted.

• Some people use the “eeney, meeney, miney, moe” method to decide what they will do. There are a lot of ways that people use to choose what they are going to do, but I don’t think they are very good ways to make an important decision.

What should we do when we have to make an important decision? The Bible says, “Seek and you will find, ask and it will be given to you, knock and the door will be opened to you.”

“Seek” – the first thing we should do when we have a decision to make is to look for the answer. Where should we look? I think the best place to look is in the Bible. The Bible is God’s word and it is true and reliable.

“Ask” – The next thing we should do is to ask. When we have an important decision, we should pray and ask God to tell us what we should do.

“Knock” – We will face many doors …if we walk through that particular door, we may find the answer. When there are several doors and we don’t know which to choose, we should knock on the door (pray) and wait to see if God opens that door.

NEVER, NEVER should we make an important decision in seconds. We need to pray about it, seek counsel from the Lord. Too often we make decisions without any prayer and true thought, and then realize it was such a foolish choice. We have this microwave mindset in this generation that everything has to done in seconds, and that is very foolish. A red flag is if someone is pushing you to speed up a decision, then I think I would say no.

Our Father in Heaven wants us to be wise. So that is exactly what we need to be. Seek for the answer in the Bible, ask God in prayer, knock and wait for God to open the door.

Dear Lord, help us to remember to ask you for the answers to the difficult decisions that we face each day.

Proverbs 2:5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.

Proverbs 2:6 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

Proverbs 2:7 He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.

1Corinthians 10:30 For if I by grace be a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks?

1Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

1Corinthians 10:32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:

1Corinthians 10:33 Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.

GOD LEADS US ALONG

In shady, green pastures, so rich and so sweet,
God leads His dear children along;
Where the water’s cool flow bathes the weary one’s feet,
God leads His dear children along.

Some through the waters, some through the flood,
Some through the fire, but all through the blood;
Some through great sorrow, but God gives a song,
In the night season and all the day long.

Sometimes on the mount where the sun shines so bright,
God leads His dear children along;
Sometimes in the valley, in darkest of night,
God leads His dear children along.

Some through the waters, some through the flood,
Some through the fire, but all through the blood;
Some through great sorrow, but God gives a song,
In the night season and all the day long.

Though sorrows befall us and evils oppose,
God leads His dear children along;
Through grace we can conquer, defeat all our foes,
God leads His dear children along.

Some through the waters, some through the flood,
Some through the fire, but all through the blood;
Some through great sorrow, but God gives a song,
In the night season and all the day long.

Away from the mire, and away from the clay,
God leads His dear children along;
Away up in glory, eternity’s day,
God leads His dear children along.

Some through the waters, some through the flood,
Some through the fire, but all through the blood;
Some through great sorrow, but God gives a song,
In the night season and all the day long.

Love and Prayers
