Edify One Another :)

wednesday-ephesians-4-15

Have a Wonderful and Blessed Day!!! We are To Edify One Another!!!

Ephesians 4:15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
Ephesians 4:16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

All of us react when we are angry, it is not with with wisdom and sense. When we are angry and in a rage, we do crazy things.
In David’s life we see in 1 Samuel 25 one rare moment where David was driven by anger, it can happen to anyone of us. David was in need of food, for himself and his men, and sought out the help of a very rich man NABAL who stayed nearby and owns a large flock.
This was not an unreasonable request as NABAL’s flock has been receiving David’s protection from bandits and robbers. David’s presence nearby has been a blessing. Moreover it was sheep-shearing time and customary for the rich to bless the needy. But David’s request was harshly and rudely turned down! This angered David and he reacted with vengeance. He took arms and brought 400 of his men to fight Nabal to get what he wants.
Don’t let rage drive you. Nothing good can come out of it. The opposite is true, it leads us to do foolish things.
The best thing to do when you are angry is to take time out – not to say anything or do anything, until that rage is over.
Romans 12:17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
Romans 12:18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
Romans 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
Romans 12:20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
Romans 12:21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
We are to do what is right, and this includes NOT taking revenge. Our number one concern is not justice. It is to show love and kindness, to extend mercy and grace, to seek unity and peace
SEEK TO BE A PEACEMAKER
Matthew 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Most of us fail at this point. We don’t even try. It’s too difficult, who is going to listen to ME? What could I do to help out in this conflict? I am not smart enough to help? Well Do we think it is better to try something or put our arms up in the air and walk away?
Paul mentions this also in:
Romans 12:17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
Romans 12:18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

SPEAK TO BUILD OTHERS UP
“God is going a great thing in your life”.
We don’t usually do that. We usually speak for ourselves. We speak to show people how smart we are. We speak to impress. It’s all about me.
Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

If we study the Scriptures on this subject of speech look through verses with the words like mouth, lips, words, tongue… we’ll come to this one conclusion. We speak to Edify, and bless, we speak tobuild up and encourage. In other words, if our words cannot edify or bless anyone, don’t even say it.
Proverbs 15:1 A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.
Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

James 3:5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
James 3:6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

ISN’T THE LOVE OF JESUS SOMETHING WONDERFUL
There will never be a sweeter story,
Story of the Savior’s love divine,
Love that bro’t Him from the realms of Glory,
Just to save a sinful soul like mine.

Isn’t the love of Jesus something wonderful,
Wonderful, wonderful.
O isn’t the love of Jesus something wonderful,
Wonderful it is to me.
Boundless as the universe around me,
Reaching to the farthest soul away,
Saving, keeping love it was that found me,
That is why my heart can truly say;

Isn’t the love of Jesus something wonderful,
Wonderful, wonderful.
O isn’t the love of Jesus something wonderful,
Wonderful it is to me.
Love beyond our human comprehending,
Love of God in Christ how can it be?
This will be my theme and never ending,
Great redeeming love of Calvary.

Isn’t the love of Jesus something wonderful,
Wonderful, wonderful.
O isn’t the love of Jesus something wonderful,
Wonderful it is to me.

Love and Prayers
Cheryl
