thursday luke 6 31

Have a Wonderful and Blessed Day!!! Treat Others As The Lord Tells Us!!!
Luke 6:26 Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.
Luke 6:27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,
Luke 6:28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
Luke 6:29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also.
Luke 6:30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
Luke 6:31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
Luke 6:32 For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.
Luke 6:33 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
Luke 6:34 And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.
Luke 6:35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
Luke 6:36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

We all have people in our lives that we don’t like. People who we think are our enemies. If you had the chance – what would you like to do to your enemies.
People who press our buttons and just make our blood boil. Sometimes someone who disagrees with us, who mocks us, or people who do much worse. It may be people we read about in the paper, they have hurt someone in a horrible way. When these things happen we say “Surely Lord you don’t mind if we hate the murderers, rapists, pedophiles”. What about those who disagree with our beliefs; “Lord we can hate or mock them right”? What about the people who have left our church and said mean things to our Pastor and snubbed me two months later in the store?
We all have someone we don’t like, someone who doesn’t like us. We may not even know why we don’t like a certain person, they just rub us the wrong way. Sometimes we look at the “Religious” and think “what is wrong with you and the lies you teach and stand on”? Is it going to do any good to hate them?

When Jesus walked this earth and taught, sat with people, talked with people. Did he ever look around first and say “You rub me the wrong way, out of here”? Did he ever say, “You are obeses and smell out of here”. I only associate with the finer people out of here”. I only like the people that pray daily out of here”. He never picked certain people to talk with. Whoever was there thats who he talked with. He always treated everyone with love. He did have a problem with the religious leaders who knew they were wrong and didn’t care.
The Bible has several words for love.
Eros love
Men and Women who are planning to marry. Their eyes flutter and their heart races. They think that the other person is so beautiful or handsome. Need to spend every moment together…
Phileo love
There is the type of love that we have for friends. We love friends because we have things in common with them. We love hanging out with them. They look after us and we look after them. Our Brothers and Sisters in the Lord.

Love is a decision. Does that person who gives you a hard time deserve your love? No. They don’t deserve any kindness at all. But Jesus says “that doesn’t matter.” Real love is love that isn’t earned or deserved. You can love a person whether they deserve it or not.
But how do we love people who are mean to us or harm others? Jesus gives us 3 ways to love these people …
When people do bad things to you or those you love, What do you want to do to them? You want revenge normally.
However this isn’t what the Lord tells us. We are to love them and pray for them.
Amazing how if we are nice to those who hate us the change in them. They really begin to mellow.
When we get into situations where people curse us or say things about us that we don’t think are justified, we need to not fight back with words, but we need to respond with blessings. How can we encourage that person. How can we show them love. You know Jesus’ whole message here is about how we show love. How can we show love to those who curse us? It takes a decision, it means loving them, and walking away with a smile and a prayer.
I found in my own life this really helps. If your praying for someone daily it is really difficult to be angry at them at the same time.

What did Jesus say upon that Cross on Calvary? Did he curse one person? Did he ask the Father to smite every last one of them? Did he call them all names? Did he say “I will laugh at you all in Hell?
NOT ONCE…He prayed for them and asked the Father “Forgive them they know not what they do”. I do not know all of you….but I am pretty sure none of you went through what My Precious lord and Savior did on the Cross and before…..

And can it be that I should gain
An int’rest in the Savior’s blood?
Died He for me, who caused His pain—
For me, who Him to death pursued?
Amazing love! How can it be,
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?

Amazing love! How can it be,
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?
’Tis myst’ry all: th’ Immortal dies:
Who can explore His strange design?
In vain the firstborn seraph tries
To sound the depths of love divine.
’Tis mercy all! Let earth adore,
Let angel minds inquire no more.
He left His Father’s throne above—
So free, so infinite His grace—
Emptied Himself of all but love,
And bled for Adam’s helpless race:
’Tis mercy all, immense and free,
For, O my God, it found out me!
Long my imprisoned spirit lay,
Fast bound in sin and nature’s night;
Thine eye diffused a quick’ning ray—
I woke, the dungeon flamed with light;
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.
No condemnation now I dread;
Jesus, and all in Him, is mine;
Alive in Him, my living Head,
And clothed in righteousness divine,
Bold I approach th’ eternal throne,
And claim the crown, through Christ my own.
