Are You A Child Of God?

Tuesday blessing Galations 3 26

Have A Wonderful and Blessed Day!!! Are You A Child Of God!!!
Galations 3:25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
Galations 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
Galations 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Jesus came unto His own and they rejected Him, but those who believe are called the children of God
Yet, the child of God should be seen and recognized by the characteristics of their lives.
Can others see Jesus in us?
In order to make sure that they do, what are some characteristics of a child of God?
1. The Child of God Believes that Jesus is the Messiah
John begins by revealing that the child of God believes and accepts that Jesus is indeed the Messiah, the Son of God, and is God.
1John 5:1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.
Not only is it necessary that the child of God believe that Jesus is the Messiah, but that they believe that Jesus came in the flesh. I John 4:2:
1John 4:2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
This is where it all begins, because if you cannot accept that Jesus is the Messiah, then you cannot be a child of God.

As with our text, there are some actions that must be displayed in your life as you attempt to be more like Jesus. We must be committed to serving Jesus, we should learn the walk of Jesus, and we should in turn become more like Him also:
1John 2:5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
1John 2:6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

2. The Child of God Should Live Righteously:
John wrote in I John 2:29:
1John 2:29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.

Are we choosing to live righteously or are you still allowing the flesh to take control? Remember, John tells us not to follow after our flesh and the lusts associated with it
Remember it was Paul who told us that in the past we walked like every one else did, but now as believers we walk differently (Ephesians 2:2-3). We have put off the old person and put on the new man which is patterned after Jesus Himself (Ephesians 4:22-24).
Ephesians 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Ephesians 2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

3. The Child of God Keeps the Commandments of Christ
Whoever you obey or follow, you become that person’s servant. Paul told the Romans to stop serving sin and therefore stop being instruments of sin (Romans 6:11-14).
Romans 6:11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 6:12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
Romans 6:13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

D. Can others see Jesus within our life?
The Child of God Does Not Practice Sin
I did not say that the child of God never sins. For I am here to tell you that Jesus was the only sinless person to ever walk this world.
What I am telling you is that the true child of God strives to avoid sin in every aspect of their lives. If they sin they confess that sin and receive cleansing from it (I John 1:9).
1John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1John 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
The child of God does not willingly sin against God, but strives in every way not to sin, but if they sin not only do they confess that sin, but they also know that they have an Advocate, Jesus Christ the righteous (I John 2:1).
The Child of God is Hated by the World
Jesus warned His followers that because He was so hated and despised they too would be hated by the world (John 15:18-21)
Do you have love for others? God the Father so loved the world that He sent Jesus (John 3:16), Jesus loved the world so much that He died for the sins of mankind (I Peter 1:18-19). Will you now love people enough to witness?
The Child of God Overcomes the World
Now that you have seen some of the characteristics of a child of God, can you proclaim that you have possession of these characteristics? Are you sure that others can see our faith and that through your witness they will seek to accept Jesus as their Lord? You can begin to change and from this point forward have the assurance that your life reveals your faith in Jesus. What will you now do? Please strive to reveal to others that you have the Marks of a Child of God.

I SURRENDER ALL
All to Jesus I surrender,
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
In His presence daily live. I surrender all,
I surrender all.
All to Thee, my blessed Savior,
I surrender all.
All to Jesus I surrender,
Humbly at His feet I bow,
Worldly pleasures all forsaken;
Take me, Jesus, take me now.
All to Jesus I surrender,
Make me, Savior, wholly Thine;
Let me feel Thy Holy Spirit,
Truly know that Thou art mine.
All to Jesus I surrender,
Lord, I give myself to Thee;
Fill me with Thy love and power,
Let Thy blessing fall on me.
All to Jesus I surrender,
Now I feel the sacred flame.
Oh, the joy of full salvation!
Glory, glory to His name!

Love and Prayers
Cheryl
