Give Thanks In All Things!!!

Philippians 4 6-7

Have a Wonderful and Blessed Day!!! Always Be Thankful!!!!

Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

1Thessalonians 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

It is not hard to see that we live in a broken and wcked world. God told us that this would happen. Jesus said because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold.

Matthew 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

It is very obvious we live in a wrecked/sinful world. Wrecked marriages, wrecked homes, wrecked economy, wrecked political system and the promise is that as the return of Jesus gets closer it will get worse.

Jesus promised to give us life to the full. This life to the full is not defined by the things we have or don’t have. The full life is defined by how we respond to trials, temptations, tragedy and things. One of the main things that can sabotage and strangle the full life is an attitude of ungratefulness. Our life as far as riches will not be defined what we have but hpw we live according to Jesus, according to his word.

Gratitude is Seeing that God is Good

Gratitude comes from a clear vision of who God is. The devil has always tried to destroy God’s character. Psalm 100 makes it clear that an attitude of gratitude comes from seeing that God is perect in every way, is holy, and awesome. Remember Jesus wants to give you a life that is full and joyful, peaceful, powerful, purposeful, useful and faithful. The devil also wants you to have a life that is full of the wrong things. Satan wants you to have a life that is ungrateful. The devil knows when you ignore the will of the Father and thankfulness; it will lead to darkness and destruction and sin.

Keep a Journal of what your Thankful for, and look at it daily.

Psalm 34:8 O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

Lamentations 3:24 The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

Lamentations 3:25 The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

Lamentations 3:26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

Gratitude is Sharing the Lord with Others

Hebrews 13:15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

According to the writer of Hebrews thanksgiving or gratefulness is a fruit. Fruit of any sort require cultivation and fertilization to produce fully. There may be nasty things you have to walk though in order to have your fruit of thanksgiving fully fertilized.

A grateful attitude doesn’t happen by accident. Giving thanks in this passage is in the present imperative which means it is to be a habit of attitude and action. God knows how this will benefit us and others and calls us to be disciplined to make it part of our daily routine!!

What does a witness do? Witnesses tell about what they have seen and heard? We are called of God to offer a sacrifice of sharing the good things God has done in our lives. Witnessing is less about memorizing someone else’s way of evangelizing and more about sharing about God’s goodness and mercy in your life?

Has God done anything good in your life this week? Then share it with someone!

Has God done anything good in this church family this week? Then share it with someone!

Gratitude is Serving the Lord with Gladness

Psalm 100:2 Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.

Psalm 100:3 Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Psalm 100:4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

Psalm 100:5 For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

Serving God isn’t dull, dry and boring. When you get your sight right there is joy and laughter and festivity at seeing God’s goodness take root in others’ lives!!

Our gratitude cannot be simply tied to our good words. It is clear that God’s will for us is for our gratitude to be tied to good words and good works!!

You can’t serve God with grumbling inactivity, serve with joy, excitment, and LOVE!!!

Philippians 2:14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:

Philippians 2:15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

Ungrateful complainers are lumped in with idolaters, sexually immoral, and those desiring evil that were destroyed by God.

Life is a gift from God to be lived for God. When our mouths are full of thankfulness they can’t be full of grumbling

Gratitude isn’t about the pain, pressure or problem you face. It is about a right attitude toward the one who controls all that is your life!! When we remember that God is in control and works all things to the good then we can give thanks in the worst and best of circumstances!!

Give Thanks To the ONE and ONLY the DESERVES IT!!!

Now thank we all our God, with heart and hands and voices,
Who wondrous things has done, in Whom this world rejoices;
Who from our mothers’ arms has blessed us on our way
With countless gifts of love, and still is ours today.

Oh, may this bounteous God through all our life be near us,
With ever joyful hearts and blessed peace to cheer us;
And keep us in His grace, and guide us when perplexed;
And guard us through all ills in this world, till the next!

All praise and thanks to God the Father now be given,
The Son, and Him Who reigns with Them in highest Heaven—
The one eternal God, Whom earth and Heav’n adore;
For thus it was, is now, and shall be evermore.

Some thank the Lord for friends and home
For mercies sure and sweet
But I would praise Him for his grace
In prayer I would repeat

Thank you, Lord, for saving my soul
Thank you, Lord, for making me whole
Thank you, Lord, for giving to me
Thy great salvation so rich and free

Some thank Him for the flow’rs that grow
Some for the stars that shine
My heart is filled with joy and praise
Because I know He’s mine

I trust in Him from day to day
I prove His saving grace
I’ll sing this song of praise to Him
Until I see His face

Thank you, Lord, for saving my soul
Thank you, Lord, for making me whole
Thank you, Lord, for giving to me
Thy great salvation so rich and free
