As For Me And My Family:)

Sunday blessing Joshua 24 15

Have a Wonderful and Blessed Day!!! As For My Family We Will Serve The Lord!!!

Joshua 24:14 Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD.

Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

Joshua 24:16 And the people answered and said, God forbid that we should forsake the LORD, to serve other gods;

Joshua 24:17 For the LORD our God, he it is that brought us up and our fathers out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and which did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way wherein we went, and among all the people through whom we passed:

So many Bible Believing Christians are in need of taking a stand on the truths of God’s word. We need to take a stand one way or the other on so many issues in the very near future. We are already at a time where laws are being changed, where Biblical positions on homosexually will be defined as “hate speech.” That is already the case in some parts of the world. Where people are having children and changing the sex of that child. Get ready my Christian friend; know what you believe and be willing to stand on the Word of God.”

At the beginning of chapter 23 we are told that the 12 tribes of Israel were finally at home and at rest in the promise land and Joshua is coming to the end of his life. What we have in these two chapters is a challenge to them in three important areas of the believers life that have a spiritual application for us today. First is:

The Choice to Live by the Scripture:

Joshua 23:6 Be ye therefore very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, that ye turn not aside therefrom to the right hand or to the left;

If ever there was a time that believers needed to live by the precepts, principles and practices of the Scripture, now is that time. Believers are being told today that “if Jesus didn’t specifically condemn something then it must be okay” and “it doesn’t matter what you believe, just as long as you believe,” and if you call some type of behavior a sin then you are being unkind and unloving. If we are going to live by the Scriptures then we’re going to have to be considered hateful, unkind, unloving. Well the Lord has not came here and changed his word therefore we need to follow his commandments. The laws he gave are still right. Also look at things we do would we be embarrassed to do them in front of Jesus?

Be Courageous

We are living in a day when it takes a certain amount of courage to take a stand on the Word of God and I believe that there is going to be even more pressure to compromise what we believe and conform to the world’s way of thinking and believing. Let me give an example that I read about just the other day. This happened in the UK. A church put up a sign with John 3:16 and some flames at the bottom of the sign. A 20 year man who happened to be walking by saw the sign and objected to it, the flames in particular. He reported it to the police who came and investigated and declared that it was hate speech. The church took the sign down. We can’t just crumble. We need to stand…

Be Circumspect

Why should we be concerned about obeying all of God word? The answer is fairly simple. We are taught that “…all Scripture is given by inspiration of God…” Since the entire Bible is inspired then it makes sense that God meant all of it to be obeyed. You and I do not have the liberty to pick and choose what we will obey. No Where does he say pick of this, and some of that. Not a Buffet.

Be Consistent

Consistency is the mark of maturity in the Christian life.

Read, Pray, Witness daily!!! Love him Daily…It is not about feelings!!!

Joshua 1:5 There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Joshua 1:6 Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.

Joshua 1:7 Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.

Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Joshua 1:9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

The Choice to Live a Separated Life

2Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

The Choice to Live a Life of Service

Joshua 24:14 Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD.

Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

I GAVE MY LIFE FOR THEE

I gave My life for thee, My precious blood I shed,
That thou might ransomed be, and raised up from the dead
I gave, I gave My life for thee, what hast thou given for Me?
I gave, I gave My life for thee, what hast thou given for Me?

My Father’s house of light, My glory circled throne
I left for earthly night, for wanderings sad and lone;
I left, I left it all for thee, hast thou left aught for Me?
I left, I left it all for thee,

hast thou left aught for Me?

I suffered much for thee, more than thy tongue can tell,
Of bitterest agony, to rescue thee from hell.
I’ve borne, I’ve borne it all for thee,

what hast thou borne for Me?
I’ve borne, I’ve borne it all for thee,

what hast thou borne for Me?

And I have brought to thee, down from My home above,
Salvation full and free, My pardon and My love;
I bring, I bring rich gifts to thee,

what hast thou brought to Me?
I bring, I bring rich gifts to thee,

what hast thou brought to Me?

Love and Prayers
