A Promise and A Prayer :)

Have A Wonderful and Blessed Day!!! A Precious Promise and Prayer!!!

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

When I read this verse I go away with peace. Now read exactly what it is saying. It does not say live as you choose I will give you peace. It does not say get saved you will have peace. It tells us we are getting his peace not as what the world gives but as our Lord gives. Trust Him, Love Him, and live for him. So often we say “I am saved I have the liberty to sin and am still going to heaven” and that is true but he also tells us not to use liberty as an excuse to sin. If we truly love the Lord why would we want to spit in his face and sin and not even care that our Lord Jesus died for them awful sins. Time is short use your time wisely. When we are living our life for the Lord we do have peace.
The biggest killer of peace is when we try to live in both worlds!!!

Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

James 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

This is talking about our prayers. When we pray we need to be careful how we pray. Often times we go into prayer discussing others bad habits. We ask the Lord to change others and of course we are just fine. Also we ask out of a selfish heart. We need to ask out the Lords will and not of our own will. Some Pastors get a bit uncomfortable when taking prayer requests due to the fact it can turn into a gossip fest. We can ask for prayer request without personal details. We can also ask for prayer for someone without showing how backslidden a Brother or Sister are. Don’t ask to win the lottery (do you think the Lord approves of gambling), Don’t ask for a bigger, prettier house, unless you are planning on taking in missionary families visiting the states, Don’t ask for anything out of a selfish or worldly heart. Ask from a heart that loves the Lord, and a heart that wants his will.

Throw out the life line across the dark wave;
There is a brother whom someone should save;
Somebody’s brother! O who then will dare
To throw out the life line, his peril to share?
Throw out the life line! Throw out the life line!
Someone is drifting away;
Throw out the life line! Throw out the life line!
Someone is sinking today.
Throw out the life line with hand quick and strong:
Why do you tarry, why linger so long?
See! he is sinking; oh, hasten today
And out with the life boat! away, then away!
Throw out the life line to danger fraught men,
Sinking in anguish where you’ve never been;
Winds of temptation and billows of woe
Will soon hurl them out where the dark waters flow.
Soon will the season of rescue be o’er,
Soon will they drift to eternity’s shore;
Haste, then, my brother, no time for delay,
But throw out the life line and save them today.
This is the life line, oh, tempest tossed men;
Baffled by waves of temptation and sin;
Wild winds of passion, your strength cannot brave,
But Jesus is mighty, and Jesus can save.
Jesus is able! To you who are driv’n,
Farther and farther from God and from Heav’n;
Helpless and hopeless, o’erwhelmed by the wave;
We throw out the life line, ’tis “Jesus can save.”
This is the life line, oh, grasp it today!
See, you are recklessly drifting away;
Voices in warning, shout over the wave,
O grasp the strong life line, for Jesus can save.

Ye Christian heralds, go proclaim
Salvation through Emmanuel’s Name;
To distant climes the tidings bear,
And plant the Rose of Sharon there.
Ruler of worlds, display Thy power,
Be this Thy Zion’s favored hour;
Bid the bright morning star arise,
And point the nations to the skies.
Set up Thy throne where Satan reigns,
On Afric shores, on India’s plains;
On wilds and continents unknown,
And be the universe Thine own!
Speak and the world shall hear Thy voice;
Speak and the deserts shall rejoice!
Scatter the shades of mortal night;
Let worthless idols flee the light!
Trusting in Him, dear brethren, rear
The Gospel standard void of fear;
Go seek with joy your destined shore,
To view your native land no more.
God shield you with a wall of fire,
With flaming zeal your breasts inspire,
Bid raging winds their fury cease,
And hush the tumult into peace.
And when our labors are all o’er,
Then we shall meet to part no more;
Meet with the blood bought throng to fall,
And crown our Jesus, Lord of all!

Love and Prayers
