Are You Ready For Battle?

Wednesday may your heart trust in the Lord

Have a Wonderful and Blessed Day!!! Are You Ready For Battle!!!

We as Christians are in a tough battle daily. The war being fought is not being fought with guns and tanks. It is a battle that often cannot be seen though it rages continually. It is being fought for the souls of men and women, and for our walk with the Lord. The war is a spiritual war that has three tough foes against us; the Devil, the World, and Self.

The Devil, Satan, Lucifer, the murderer, the liar. Understand he is our adversary. In other words he is your opponent your enemy!
1Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

“There is no truce in the invisible war. Demonic activity is both real and relentless. There is no R & R for Satan’s army. These soldiers work around the clock, seven days a week, fifty-two weeks a year, year after year.” (Chuck Swindoll)

The Devil is REAL! He is not some cute little character running around in red union underwear carrying a pitchfork. He is a real being created by God. He intelligent, crafty, wily, and powerful. Christ believes in him. The Bible says he is real. He is real! Oh yeah he knows the bible he uses it for his good. It is no accident that television and radio and this world has taken the last maybe hundred years to make people “not so afraid of Satan”. This is dangerous because none of us can take him down, this is why we need to be prayed up daily; put on the whole armour of God daily. People are funny when they say “get behind thee Satan” he isn’t afraid of us. He is however afraid of the truth and this is why we need to pray and read the word daily. He is a powerful enemy. – a roaring lion.

Proverbs 30:29 There be three things which go well, yea, four are comely in going:
Proverbs 30:30 A lion which is strongest among beasts, and turneth not away for any;
He is stronger than you are.

Jude 1:9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.

He is an actively pursuing enemy. – seeking whom he may devour:

2Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
2Corinthians 4:5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.
2Corinthians 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
2Corinthians 11:13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
2Corinthians 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
2Corinthians 11:15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
He instigates false doctrine:
1Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
1Timothy 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
1Timothy 4:3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
1Timothy 4:4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
1Timothy 4:5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
1Timothy 4:6 If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.
1Timothy 4:7 But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.

He stirs up trouble in the church and seeks to destroy its witness. He seeks to disturb the unity of the church by creating discord and division. He seeks to disturb the unity of the church by creating discord and division. This is why we need to be careful in our church families.

He is a Beaten Enemy

Hebrews 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
Hebrews 2:15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
Hebrews 2:16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.
Hebrews 2:17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
Hebrews 2:18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

He knows the end he has nothing left to lose. Like the murderer who knows he is facing prison he just killed 6 people. Is he going to surrender easily to the police? He has nothing else to lose but his life and doesn’t care.

The World
John 15:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
John 15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
John 15:20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
The world will certainly sometimes speak well of Christians when they are zealous about giving away food, money, or other donations, but the world hates Christians when they stick to the details of Christ’s Word, as John writes:
John 17:14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
John 17:15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
John 17:16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

Jesus tells us that we do not belong to the world, we are not to be like the people of the world. We are to be different. The people of the world will hate us. Why? It is not because of our superior moral lives. They hate us because we tell them there is only one way to God and that it is not by “works”. They hate us because they see Christ in us. We have the spirit of Christ in us the world has the spirit of anti-christ in them.
They hate us because we tell them the only way to God is Jesus Christ. They hate us because we tell them that they are headed to Hell unless they repent. They hate us because we will not join them and confirm them in their abominations. They hate us because we are different; we are intolerant and we are not afraid to say so. They hate us because when they are trying to enjoy their sin and see us even if we don’t open our mouth their conscience gets to them.

Ex: Some family I have will not me at their events anymore, why? I won’t drink anymore with them. I represent the lord and what is right and wrong, I make them uncomfortable. All I did was one day say “No more Alcohol for me” I didn’t even get into my moral reasons just said “No Thank you”. Sin loves company. Misery loves company.

1John 2:14 I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.
1John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
1John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
1John 2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
1John 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

The areas the world attacks the believer with are;
Lust of the Flesh – the attraction to satisfy all the sensual pleasures of life
Lust of the Eyes – the attraction to obsess over material things
Pride of Life – literally, “arrogant assumption”: vainglorious display – the desire to be somebody and live pompously.
The world system is committed to at least four major objectives, which can be summarized in four words: fortune, fame, power, pleasure.

First and foremost: Fortune, money. The world system is driven by money; it feeds on materialism.

Second: Fame. That is another word for popularity. Fame is the longing to be known, to be somebody in someone else’s eyes.

Third: Power. This is having influence, maintaining control over individuals or groups or companies or whatever. It is the desire to manipulate and maneuver others to do something for one’s own benefit.
Fourth: Pleasure. At its basic level, pleasure has to do with fulfilling one’s sensual desires. It’s the same mindset that’s behind the slogan: “If it feels good, do it.”

Our greatest enemy is not the devil, nor the world, but self.
James 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
James 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
James 1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
James 1:16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.
The place where the fiercest battles are fought is not out in some seedy location or in the devil’s lair but in our minds. It is in our thoughts, in our minds, in our thinking and in our imaginations that the seeds of sin, the seeds of our destruction are sown.

Us as people sometimes think Satan is in the bar, the drug dealers home, in the adult movie houses. He has all them where he wants them they don’t bother him. It is his children he wants to destroy. OUR MINDS, and OUR THOUGHTS he is loving when he can get us side tracked. When we question ourselves on our good decisions. Like I said above many of my family people I loved dearly and still do, despise me because I won’t say what they do is right. They are not there when I am hurting. Sometimes this wreaks havoc on my thoughts, there Satan has me. We need to be very careful in our thoughts.

Romans 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
Romans 7:15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
Romans 7:16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
Romans 7:17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
Romans 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
Romans 7:19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
Romans 7:20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
Romans 7:21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
Romans 7:22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
Romans 7:23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
Romans 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
Romans 7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

We often like to say that the devil made me do it or someone else pressured or lured us into sin; but realize that every person is responsible for his or her sinfulness. No one forces us not to love God and to violate His statutes.

We need to realize that although we might be saved our old nature is just as vicious and rotten and sinful and wicked as it ever was.
The conflict in the lives of believers between our human nature and that of the Holy Spirit residing within is often extremely intense. Here is where the most desperate battles are fought in the conquest of sin. It is only when the self-nature surrenders its own way and becomes willing to accept God’s way that we are enabled to choose right over wrong.

2Corinthians 5:16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
2Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
2Corinthians 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

Romans 13:12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
Romans 13:13 Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
Romans 13:14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

Which spirit are we going to feed today? Are we going to feed the old nature or the new nature? Remember who we feed will be the strongest.
Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Ephesians 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Ephesians 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
Ephesians 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Ephesians 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Ephesians 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
The cross upon which Jesus died
Is a shelter in which we can hide
And its grace so free is sufficient for me
And deep is its fountain as wide as the sea.
There’s room at the cross for you
There’s room at the cross for you
Though millions have come, there’s still room for one
Yes there’s room at the cross for you.
Though millions have found him a friend
And have turned from the sins they have sinned
The Savior still waits to open the gates
And welcome a sinner before it’s too late.
There’s room at the cross for you
There’s room at the cross for you
Though millions have come, there’s still room for one
Yes there’s room at the cross for you.

The hand of my Savior is strong
And the love of my Savior is long
Through sunshine or rain, through loss or in gain,
The blood flows from Calvary to cleanse every stain.
There’s room at the cross for you
There’s room at the cross for you
Though millions have come, there’s still room for one
Yes there’s room at the cross for you.
