PRAYER VERY IMPORTANT!!!

Thursday be thank ful

Have a Wonderful and Blessed day!!! Prayer Is So Very Important!!!

Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
Matthew 7:8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Matthew 7:9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
Matthew 7:10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
Matthew 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
Matthew 7:12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

If you ask the young children in Christian homes, “How can I be a better Christian?” They are likely to respond, “Go to church, read your Bible and pray.” Even the youngest among us know the value of doing these things, yet every week there are empty pews at the church, and dusty, unread Bibles in our homes. And most of us would admit we don’t pray enough.

Can anyone of us say “I am satisfied with my prayer life, It is pleasing unto the Lord”.
In Matthew 7, Jesus promises to respond to our prayers, if we will only pray them. So, my question is, WHY DON’T WE ASK?
Do we not ask because we don’t trust God?
Our text today clearly says He will respond if we ask. Look at Matthew 7:7 again,
“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you”:

Do we not ask because things are going well? I know that often times when all is well in our life we don’t bother to pray. When our family is okay we don’t worry our self with prayer. Sadly have you noticed how hard it is to turn our thoughts to God when everything is going well?
This is very wrong for a couple reasons:

1. This world is filled with lost people on their way to hell. I believe we need to pray for the lost daily.
2. We need to pray for our Pastors, Missionaries, the president of this country.
3. Parents and Grandparents our children need our prayers daily. Pray for their well being, salvation, education, marriage.
4. The Lord wants to hear from us daily. Can you imagine living in your home with those you love and nobody talks to one another. What if you decide never to talk to your spouse? What if our children stop talking to us?
5. What about thanking him daily for all the needs he fulfills, and the extras he gives us.

Faith praying can change the world. Can change circumstances.
Matthew 17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

The scripture says, 2Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

When we ask, souls are saved.
Sure sometimes it seems like our prayers are going unheard, unanswered; however we don’t always know what changes are being made in someone’s heart. I know of a wife she prayed for her husband for 20 years. Many of us prayed with her. Well this man after 20 years came to salvation. This man wanted NOTHING to do with Jesus and his salvation, 20 years and this man got saved. I know of another man who prayed for over 20 years for a group of five men EVERYDAY and eventually all five came to salvation. PRAYER does more than anyone of us realize.

God doesn’t always answer our prayers on our timetable, but He does answer us if we will pray. Wouldn’t it be terrible to wake up in eternity to discover how the prayers we did pray helped in many ways we never knew; then realized how many other things we could have done through prayer. I am not saying this will be but nobody knows what the Lord will say to us, or the shame we will feel standing before him and knowing we took our prayer life less important than our meal plan.

Matthew 13:58 And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
James 4:2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
James 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
Calling for help as soon as possible is always a good idea, especially when it comes to spiritual matters. Why is prayer usually our last resort instead of our first option? It can be our lack of faith, our lack of trust in he who created us. He keeps all of his promises and he can’t and does not lie so we need to be obeident in prayer. He wants to hear from us everyday, lets talk with him everyday!!!

Psalm 55:16 As for me, I will call upon God; and the LORD shall save me.
Psalm 55:17 Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.

SWEET HOUR OF PRAYER
Sweet hour of prayer! Sweet hour of prayer!
That calls me from a world of care,
and bids me at my Father’s throne.
Make all my wants and wishes known;
in seasons of distress and grief,
my soul has often found relief,
and oft escaped the tempter’s snare,
by thy return, sweet hour of prayer!
Sweet hour of prayer! Sweet hour of prayer!
The joys I feel, the bliss I share,
of those whose anxious spirits burn
with strong desires for thy return!
With such I hasten to the place
where God my Savior shows His face,
and gladly take my station there,
and wait for Thee, sweet hour of prayer!
Sweet hour of prayer! Sweet hour of prayer!
Thy wings shall my petition bear
to Him whose truth and faithfulness
engage the waiting soul to bless;
and since He bids me seek His face,
believe His Word and trust His grace,
I’ll cast on Him my every care,
and wait for Thee, sweet hour of prayer!
Love and prayers
Cheryl
