Rewards of Forgiveness

monday blessings Matthew 5 16

Have a Wonderful and Blessed day!!! Rewards of Forgiveness!!!

1John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
1John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1John 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

When we sin, we become distant from God because He is pure light and there is no darkness in Him at all. We learned that repentance is the mechanism that God gave us to be forgiven and have our relationship with Him restored. Before salvation we need to come to a time where we realize we are sinners, and need to repent and call upon Jesus for Salvation. All our past sins are forgiven and we are forever his child. However when we sin after salvation (and we will we are sinners), we need to repent and ask for forgiveness we will NEVER lose our salvation but need to ask forgiveness for the daily sins.

John 15:1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
John 15:2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
John 15:3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
John 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
Repentance is validated by its fruit. In a world where there are many wolves dressed in sheep’s clothing, the following verses in Matthew explain this.

Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Matthew 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Matthew 7:17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
Matthew 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Matthew 7:19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Matthew 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
It can be very difficult to tell which person has and which one has not been born again. To address this uncertainty Jesus says that we can separate the children of this world from God’s children by examining the fruits of their lives. I am not talking about good works, but living for the Lord. We can often tell if someone is putting the Lord before self.
Matthew 12:33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.

Those who bear bad fruit are children of the prince of his world. However those who bear good fruit are God’s children. In a similar manner, a person can tell if one is truly repentant or not, by examining the fruit or outcomes of their repentance.
Ephesians 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Ephesians 2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
To tell if one has successfully repented or not one only needs to examine oneself to see if any of the following seven fruits of repentance exists in one’s life.

First Fruit

The first fruit of living a repentant life is citizenship in God’s kingdom. While almost all church going people automatically assume they are born again believers, unfortunately this is not the case. So many people will say “Oh I am good”, “I have never cheated on my spouse”, “I have never killed anyone”. First of all the Lord says nobody is good, not one. As far as not killing anyone do we all realize if we hate someone that is murdering them in our heart. Do we realize to look upon someone with lust in our heart is the same as the physical act? If we count on “our good works” we will not be in Heaven. First of all Jesus paid it all nothing in our power can get us to heaven. It is a true and repentive heart and trusting Jesus.
Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Since a good tree bears good fruit and a bad one bad fruit, one cannot have either one foot or both feet in Satan’s kingdom and expect to bear fruit in God’s. To become a citizen of God’s kingdom requires one to repent of one’s sin and make Jesus Christ the Lord of one’s life. Only when one is born again is one enabled to truly bear the good fruits of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. If one has never experienced these fruits, then one should examine oneself for there is a good chance one is not saved.

Only those who are repentant and born again can understand spiritual truths. Jesus spoke in parables so that “though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand”.
Matthew 13:13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
Apostle Paul tells us that “the god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God”. We can see how many have been blinded and turned over to a reprobate mind. Some of the wickedness we see to show how blinded some have become are:
Glorifying killing of babies.

Trans gendering of children. Allowing children to be pranced in front of others in drag.

Pride Parades to glory in sin. Proverbs 11:2 When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.
1John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
Proverbs 29:23 A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.

Murder daily we see people killed and over such horrible things.

Gay Marriage.

2Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2Timothy 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
2Timothy 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
2Timothy 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
2Timothy 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
2Timothy 3:6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
2Timothy 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
2Timothy 3:8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

The only way to removing this veil of darkness is to repent and believe in Jesus Christ: Repentance is the only way to know the truth, and peace. Genuinely repentant Christians are known by their knowledge of the truth.

Repentance for forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in the name of Jesus Christ to all the nations;

Luke 24:45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
Luke 24:46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
Luke 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
Luke 24:48 And ye are witnesses of these things.
When a person repents, and believes in the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ they are forgiven of their sins and are born-again, not of flesh and blood,
John 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Remember the unspeakable joy that you felt when you were born-again? Because there is no sin in God whatsoever, this joyful feeling can only be maintained by living a repentant life style. There is no drug, no sex, no toy, no car, no worldly thing that will give the true Peace and Joy that our Precious Lord Jesus Christ gives after salvation and living for him.

Since God is pure light and there is no darkness in Him at all, the only way to stay closely walking with a holy God is to repent each time one sins.

If we are truly born-again it should make us uncomfortable, sad, repentant when we sin. Although some are saved and after a time continuing in sin our peace ill not be there.
Living in a world where truth is in the eye of the beholder means that for many people truth changes from one day to the next. This wicked world really doesn’t know truth or care about it. When Christians grow careless about how much the world influences them, they often see moral and spiritual declines in their lives because God is no longer the center of their moral compass. The more we embrace the old self that loves the freedom to sin, the more God demonstrates His displeasure by withdrawing His presence from our very lives. Since we all sin daily, the only way to remain close to God then is to repent daily. Repentance is the key in which we refresh our relationship with the Lord daily.

We first ask for forgiveness and then allow God to renew our minds. We must remember sin lasts a moment eternity is forever. Here we face trials, temptations daily, more rewarding is to live now for eternity. We will all stand before our Precious Lord do we truly want to feel shame.

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

1Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
1Peter 1:4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
1Peter 1:5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Keeping the great cloud of witnesses ever before us we are to throw off all sin that easily entangles us on the journey. While this race has a glorious finish to it, an inheritance that can never perish, fade, or spoil; the journey getting there is often fought with hardships and persecutions. Truly if you live in America how bad are our persecutions? Look at what some of our Brothers and Sisters face in other countries. When you joined the kingdom of God, Jesus did not promise you an easy but a life with trials, tribulaion, and yes heartache. Jesus promised that since we do not belong to the ways of this world then we can expect unbelievers to hate and persecute all Christians;

John 15:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
John 15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

John 15:20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
John 15:21 But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me.
John 15:22 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.
John 15:23 He that hateth me hateth my Father also.
John 15:24 If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.
John 15:25 But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.

He warned us people will let us down, and we all have at least one occasion where Mother, father, brother, sister, pastor, child has let us down. Should we really walk away from our Precious Lord when we warns us these things will happen. Praise his name that he doesn’t walk away from us everytime we sin.

While we are to perceive tribulations as a source of joy because they can lead to increased faith, often we give in to temptations and end up wandering on the broad path of sin. It is only thorough living a repentant life and by keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the perfecter of our faith, that we are able to return, finish the race and receive crowns of righteousness.

2Timothy 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
2Timothy 4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
2Timothy 4:9 Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me:

Since we all sin and fall short of God’s glory living a repentant life is the only way for us to maintain a close personal, relationship with a holy God. We learned that repentance must be done God’s way or it will not lead to forgiveness and restoration. For instance, solely focusing on motivators such as sorrow, preservation, penance, reformation, self-deception, selection, and no consequences for sin; often are ineffective because what God truly wants from us is a broken, and contrite heart. After having gone through the Biblical steps of sight, sorrow, confession, shame, and hatred of sin; one can turn from darkness and embrace righteous living.

The benefits of living a repentant life: citizenship in God’s kingdom, knowledge of truth, forgiveness of sins, and refreshment, God’s presence, perseverance, and readiness for judgment; are truly treasures beyond what any words can express. We need to focus on the Savior and not our self.
All to Jesus I surrender,
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
In His presence daily live.

I surrender all,
I surrender all.
All to Thee, my blessed Savior,
I surrender all.
All to Jesus I surrender,
Humbly at His feet I bow,
Worldly pleasures all forsaken;
Take me, Jesus, take me now.
All to Jesus I surrender,
Make me, Savior, wholly Thine;
Let me feel Thy Holy Spirit,
Truly know that Thou art mine.
All to Jesus I surrender,
Lord, I give myself to Thee;
Fill me with Thy love and power,
Let Thy blessing fall on me.
All to Jesus I surrender,
Now I feel the sacred flame.
Oh, the joy of full salvation!
Glory, glory to His name!
I surrender all,
I surrender all.
All to Thee, my blessed Savior,
I surrender all.
