Have a Wonderful and Blessed day!!! The Light of the World!!!

John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
John 8:13 The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.
John 8:14 Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.
John 8:15 Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.
John 8:16 And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.
John 8:17 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.
John 8:18 I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.
John 8:19 Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.
John 8:20 These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come.
John 8:21 Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come.
“I am the light of the world” is the highest claim that He has made so far in the Gospel of John. One of the definitions of God is that He is light:
1John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

“Then spake Jesus again unto them;” though he had already spoken a great deal to them with little results. They were opposed to what He said, and yet he spoke again. They had turned a deaf ear to what he said, and yet he spoke again to them, saying, “I am the light of the world.” The religious leaders did not know where they were going or where He was going because they were in the dark spiritually. They had the light of the Law and of conscience, but they did not have the light of life. Consequently, they did not know the Father or understand what Jesus taught them. It is our duty to follow him, to submit ourselves to his guidance, and in every thing take directions from him.

Many follow false lights, false pastors, that lead them to destruction; but Christ is the true light. It is not enough to look at this light, and to gaze upon it, but we must follow it, believe in it, and walk in it, for it is a light to our feet, not to our eyes only. Follow Christ, and we shall undoubtedly have peace. Now I am not saying life will be perfect while here in this sinful world. However we can have peace, joy, and contentment. We also need to realize we need to be content in all things according to the word of God.

Matthew 6:32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

He tells us He is Bread, He is Water, and He is Life. Then we understand, not only does God love us so very much, but that He also meets our every need. Jesus said, “I am the bread of life”
John 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
“I am the light of the world”
John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
“I am the door”
John 10:7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
John 10:8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
John 10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
“I am the good shepherd”
John 10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

“I am the resurrection, and the life”
John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
John 11:26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
“I am the way, the truth, and the life”
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
And “I am the vine, ye are the branches”
John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
John 15:6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

“I am the light of the world” is the highest claim that He has made so far in the Gospel of John. Is light the absence of darkness? Is darkness the absence of light? We say a room is filled with light. What do we mean? He is light and no darkness can or will be found in him.
Jesus Christ is the Light of the World. Just as the sun is the physical light of the world, He is the spiritual light. Just as a little child can have enough sense to come into the presence of light, so any sinner today, though he be “a fool and a wayfaring man”, can come into the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ.

John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
John 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
John 1:5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

We can see in this world things of darkness are evil. Some examples:
Most bars, nightclubs are dark, not well lighted.
Some stores that sell sinful items are usually very dim, no light in them.
Things off the occult, tea leaf reading, palm reading, “contacting the dead are not filled with light but darkness only.
There are those who deny that Christ is the light of the world. They are walking in a lesser light. As the moon has no light of its own but reflects light from the sun, so this civilization we live in today owes everything to Christ.

This sinful world is just walking in moonlight, as it were. How this poor old world needs to get back to the Light which is Christ.
That is why hell is so dark Jesus is not there “utter darkness”.
2Peter 2:4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;

Christians are to be recognized as God’s children. We are also lights in the world. Christ is the Light of the World and His followers light-bearers reflecting His light.

What about us are we lights? When people meet us do they ee the Light of Jesus in us? Are we sometimes hiding in the darkness?
We are commanded to be lights and that is exactly what we need to be doing. We need to be prayerful and asking to be in the light at all times.

WALKING IN THE LIGHT
Walking in the light,

I want you to know who that light is
Jesus is the light,
beautiful light;
Ain’t it wonderful?
Ain’t it glorious?
Ain’t it marvelous?
Ain’t it beautiful?
Jesus is the light
I’m walking in the light
Ain’t it beautiful how the light shines?
