Have a Wonderful and Blessed day!!! Woe To Those Not Believing the Truth!!!
Matthew 23:1 Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,
Matthew 23:2 Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat:
Matthew 23:3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.
Matthew 23:4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.
Matthew 23:5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,
Matthew 23:6 And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,
Matthew 23:7 And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.
Matthew 23:8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.
Matthew 23:9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
Matthew 23:10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.
Matthew 23:11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.
Matthew 23:12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.
Matthew 23:13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.
Matthew 23:14 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.
Matthew 23:15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.
Matthew 23:16 Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!
Matthew 23:17 Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold?
Matthew 23:18 And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty.
Matthew 23:19 Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift?
Matthew 23:20 Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon.
Matthew 23:21 And whoso shall swear by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein.
Matthew 23:22 And he that shall swear by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon.
Matthew 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
Matthew 23:24 Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.
Matthew 23:25 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.
Matthew 23:26 Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.
Matthew 23:27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.
Matthew 23:28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
Matthew 23:29 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous,
Matthew 23:30 And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.
Matthew 23:31 Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.
Matthew 23:32 Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.
Matthew 23:33 Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?
Matthew 23:34 Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:
Matthew 23:35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.
Matthew 23:36 Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.
Matthew 23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!
Matthew 23:38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.
Matthew 23:39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
Years ago, I heard a story about a preacher who went to a small town to preach a series of gospel sermons. His attempt was to evangelize that little town. He preached for two weeks. During the whole time, only one little girl responded to the invitation at the end of one of his sermons. She confessed Christ, was baptized, and turned out to be the only convert during the entire meeting. The preacher judged the meeting a failure, and for years, bemoaned the great effort he had made for such little result. We are not going to get anyone saved we plant the seeds some water, and some harvest. It is not about us or numbers. The Lord told Abraham if he found ten righteous he would not destroy Sodom. So the Lord will move mountains for one soul. He may have a whole week long tent meeting for one soul.
Genesis 18:32 And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten’s sake.
However, he (this pastor) was not looking at things the way the Lord would have him look at things. That little girl grew up to be a strong, faithful Christian woman. She married a Christian man, and together they produced several sons, all of whom became preachers of the gospel. Those sons converted thousands of unbelievers to Christ. We can’t stick our nose up over “JUST ONE”.
Our church had a VBS about 3 years in a row whole lot of work went into it. Each year one person came to salvation, but a lot of seeds were planted. We don’t see results each time we do something and should not be witnessing for numbers.
Many today are following false teachers who are teaching false doctrines. This feel good, pray it and claim it, and that God wants you to wealthy and if you are not then He is mad at you are all false teachings. They are Satan’s attempts to alter the Gospel message, to destroy the church’s testimony. These are lies right out of hell.
These false teacher place many burdens on their followers. They try to do a couple different things and all are wrong:
A. Some make it look like everyone will go to heaven. God is all loving and would never allow anyone to go to hell. This is a dangerous lie.
B. Some will require special rituals, traditions, and rules that their followers must follow.
C.Their followers must either follow rules and works salvation and hope that they have done enough or were good enough to be saved. This is what the problems with cults are feeding lies to those following them. Some say they must knock on so many doors, some say it is about the money you give, some say it is feeding the poor, living without any wealth.
They live in fear because there is no assurance of salvation.
What a horrible life they must live. Never knowing whether or not they have been good enough or done enough to be saved.
Many will follow these teachers because the false doctrines allow them to do several things.
1.They can do what they want to.
2.They can do something to save themselves.
3.They can be in control of their lives and salvation.
4.They don’t have to surrender to a God who loves them and they would rather surrender to a man or organization that could care less about them.
These False Teachers are after power and prestige.
1.Many people want to follow someone. Many people today want something for nothing. They will follow anyone who they believe can give them what they want. They will sacrifice everything for a false religion. But they refuse to hear and follow the truth. Where they think they are getting something for nothing the are actually having work very something and in the end gain nothing.
The world sets traps for you and we can see this in the world today so obvious yet many are being fooled. You hear constantly that if you just have enough money, enough stuff, enough power, enough prestige-then you’ll be happy. Under that illusion people spend their whole lives thinking you must have it all. The lost world is so blinded by the theory “Things bring happiness”. Some of these false teachers tell the world “Have your best life now”, this is so unbiblical it is scary. Our life here needs to be about glorifying the Lord, getting the gospel to the lost, and planning for eternity, not having a “good ole time now”.
The call of Christianity is unlike that of the world. The world focus’ on what you and get out of life. A Christian should focus on what they can give.
Many today are willing to give up their very lives for a few moments of pleasure. They grasp at emptiness looking for fullness. They are willing to give up all they own to a religious leader who can not heal them, can not give them life, and in no way save them.
People in the world will worship leaders, celebrities, nature, animals, homes, cars, money, but turn their nose up at the real and only truth and peace.
They will surrender all to a mere man. Some will even claim that the man is god, and this man does not care for them much less love them. But they refuse to believe in a loving God. Do you see how Satan can blind our eyes.
These false teachers are all show and there is nothing real about them.
A. They have no real message except for lies and half truths.
B. They have no real salvation.
C. They have no real hope.
D. They have no real life.
A man had posted a question on twitter and asked if you belonged to Joel Osteen’s church and was put in the hospital would he come visit you. Good question I personally believe no he would not.
They keep others from entering heaven. That is why we are to fight against them. They are the enemies warriors waring against the church.
Now I do believe that those deceitful religious leaders will face a hotter place in hell, but they are taking thousands with them.
1.They don’t teach the truth and they block their followers from hearing the truth.
1.They don’t allow open discussion of their groups beliefs.
2.They don’t allow members to talk with nonmembers.
3.They isolate the group from the public and family.
4.The teacher is not a believer so the followers will not be a believer.
5.Woe to those who prevent someone from coming to Christ.
6.These false teachers are dead on the inside. Their souls are dead.
7.They are condemned because they don’t believe in Jesus Christ.
8.They have turned over their life to Satan.
9. As Satan’s servants they try to destroy the Gospel by:
Denying the gospel, and not having anything to do with the truth.
What are we to do?
1.To stand against false teaching and prevent it from entering into our lives, our family’s lives and the church by following God and teaching the truth the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
2.We are to pray for those who are unbelievers.
3. Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Ephesians 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Ephesians 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
Ephesians 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Ephesians 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Ephesians 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
4.We are to serve faithfully.
5.We are to be bold WITNESSES.
As we know these days are truly wicked and evil. We are told to be wise, and prepared to go into the world giving the gospel, and standing on the truth. We are not to be living our best life now and if anyone is telling us that we need to move away from the liar.
Satan can’t steal our salvation but he can steal our joy and peace so it is so important to be prayed up daily, and not allowing lies in our hearts and minds.
WILL JESUS FIND US WATCHING
When Jesus comes to reward His servants,
Whether it be noon or night,
Faithful to Him will He find us watching,
With our lamps all trimmed and bright?
Oh, can we say we are ready, brother?
Ready for the soul’s bright home?
Say, will He find you and me still watching,
Waiting, waiting when the Lord shall come?
If, at the dawn of the early morning,
He shall call us one by one,
When to the Lord we restore our talents,
Will He answer thee, “Well done”?
Have we been true to the trust He left us?
Do we seek to do our best?
If in our hearts there is naught condemns us,
We shall have a glorious rest.
Blessed are those whom the Lord finds watching,
In His glory they shall share;
If He shall come at the dawn or midnight,
Will He find us watching there?
Love and prayers
