If someone were to ask me what the number one goal of this New Year was; I would say to Praise the Lord far more often. To tell others of his Greatness more often. I would like for others to truly 8understand the magnitude of the Lord’s greatness, and grace. I hope everyone remembers the truth about my God.
I would like the chance to talk of the Gospel and have others say “wow I just want to praise his name”.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior of the world, and He’s worthy to be praised.

We need to realize the truth about praise and his greatness. We don’t praise and serve him to become more wealthy, more famous, live in a place where others would be envious. Jesus Christ is worthy of all our praise and adoration.

Psalm 145:1 David’s Psalm of praise. I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever.
Psalm 145:2 Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever.
There isn’t a day that passes without this psalmist lifting God up and giving Him praise, and there’s no end in sight—it lasts forever and ever.
What does he say in his praise?
Psalm 145:3 Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.

Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.
The Lord isn’t just great; He’s unsearchable!

I know it is so of a truth: but how should man be just with God?
First we need to trust in his saving blood. We need to trust him and him alone. No Man, Pastor, Speaker, missionary can do what the Lord does for us daily. We also need to realize all men are sinners and therefore are not in any higher standard with the Lord. Sometimes some will latch on to a Pastor and look to him as God. This can be dangerous on many levels. One huge reason for this is:

I belonged to a Church many years ago. The pastor was admired highly by many in the congregation. I knew of at least two women who would take his word over the word of god. Well this pastor fell and in a very wicked way. Some of the brethren admiring him were crushed, they are still out of church because they had their eyes on a man and not God. We need to be careful who we are worshipping.

Only the Lord can give and take life or let me reword that; Only the Lord should give and take away. The wicked of this world killing babies, killing for money, things, acceptance are playing God in saying who should live and who should die. Very dangerous territory.
Psalm 145:4 One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.
Psalm 145:5 I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.
Psalm 145:6 And men shall speak of the might of thy terrible acts: and I will declare thy greatness.

People in our day want Jesus to be a buddy who’ll keep them safe and bless them, but this isn’t the God we know from the Scriptures. It makes my heart sad when I hear some refer to our might and Wondrous Lord as “The man upstairs”. The Big guy”, “My pal Jesus”, he is not a fishing buddie, not a drinking buddy, not a card playing buddy, he is ALL MIGHTY, ALL PERFECT, ALL HOLY!!!
When we hear someone say that something’s terrible we usually understand it to mean shoddy or of poor quality. But here it means something that causes fear and is revered. God isn’t some soft cuddly Teddy Bear. In Nehemiah 9:32 we see:

Nehemiah 9:31 Nevertheless for thy great mercies’ sake thou didst not utterly consume them, nor forsake them; for thou art a gracious and merciful God.
Nehemiah 9:32 Now therefore, our God, the great, the mighty, and the terrible God, who keepest covenant and mercy, let not all the trouble seem little before thee, that hath come upon us, on our kings, on our princes, and on our priests, and on our prophets, and on our fathers, and on all thy people, since the time of the kings of Assyria unto this day.

He is terrible and majestic. He deserves to be lifted higher and higher and higher and higher with no end. We can’t say enough about His glory or His awesome power.

He is merciful towards sinners, yet He is righteous:
Lamentations 3:22 It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
Lamentations 3:23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Hebrews 4:13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
Hebrews 4:14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

How can a righteous God show grace? How can a judge be good and let rebels go free?

We know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior of the world; therefore He is worthy to be praised. He came and fulfilled the Law—He alone has done everything required—and yet God poured out all His terrible wrath onto His Son so that we who belong to Him might be saved!

His wrath is satisfied at the cross and the debt is paid. This is how he can have mercy on sinners and be patient with us—our sin is given to Christ, and Christ’s righteousness is given to us. God is righteous and merciful!

We need to be graceful when witnessing to the lost; too often us as Christians get caught up in our feelings and will attack a lost person over their choices, and wickedness. However where were we when we came salvation?

The Lord gives us grace and mercy and we need to do the same. One day I was talking to my son and was upset with someone who was not saved. My son interrupted me and said “Mom she is not saved, why are you expecting her to behave as she is saved”.
His glorious kingdom never ends. We will live and reign with him for all eternity in Heaven.

All the saints make known the glory of His domain and power—His kingdom is majestic and it never ends. The world has seen many great powers—Assyria, Babylon, Egypt, Rome, China, England, France, and the USA are just a few, but kingdoms rise and fall. Who knows who will be in power here in another 1,000 years? Hitler said his Third Reich would last 1,000 years, but it fell in only a few.
But the kingdom of God is not of this world:
John 18:36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
He is worthy to be praised in this, and we can’t keep ourselves from speaking it.
He gives us what we need when we need it and opens His hand up to us.
What we need is a bigger view of God. He isn’t the one who makes our lives better—He needs to be very center and forefront our lives!
Psalm 150:1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.
Psalm 150:2 Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.
Psalm 150:3 Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.
Psalm 150:4 Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.
Psalm 150:5 Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.
Psalm 150:6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.

Praise him! praise him! ever in joyful song!
