Believe On Him!!!

Tuesday blessings who walk not after the flesh

Have a Wonderful and Blessed Day!!! Believe On Him Who Sent Him!!!

John 6:28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?
John 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
John 6:30 They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work?
John 21:24 This is the disciple which testifieth of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true.
John 21:25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.

You have to remember that John is glossing over a lot of Jesus’ life because he knows there isn’t enough space in the world to hold all the books it would take to write down every miracle (John. 21:25). His main purpose is that we might believe Jesus is the Christ and the Son of God and that we might have eternal life:

John 20:30 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:
John 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

And Jesus went up into a mountain, and there he sat with his disciples.
There were a lot of travelers and when Jesus sees them He has compassion because they were like sheep without a shepherd. He spent the whole day teaching them in the wilderness “And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals.

Matthew 14:15 And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals.
Matthew 14:16 But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat.
Matthew 14:17 And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes.
Matthew 14:18 He said, Bring them hither to me.
Matthew 14:19 And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
Matthew 14:20 And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full.
Matthew 14:21 And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.

They want to send the people away but Jesus says, “You feed them.” Well, they know they can’t do this because they have so little. But this exchange has a purpose:

When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat? And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do. Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little. One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, saith unto him, There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?

And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would. When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost. Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten.

“Jesus can take whatever you’ve got and multiply it in abundance. So give even your mushy fish sandwich to Jesus.” There is nobody alive or dead that could have ever done this. Only our Lord Jesus Christ, Our God, our Father. I believe even the disciples who had walked daily with Jesus were shocked to see what Jesus had done on this day.

We see all these miracles that Jesus did while here on earth. Walking on water, healing the sick, raising the dead. Yet so many still doubt, in defense even those standing along side of him; still doubted. Yet many did not doubt, and sadly many believed and were afraid of what would happen if they professed what they believed that Jesus is the Son of God, he is God. (like today how often to people not want to talk of their beliefs? How many will hear a street Preacher and be with friends so they will mock with the multitude. I am sure glad Jesus wasn’t embarrassed of me.

The people came and Jesus fed them miraculously for the benefit of the disciples! Later that night He would come to them again with another miracle and they would start putting things together. Maybe they weren’t all that different from the rest of the crowd; maybe they would like to see Him as a king too. But here, in this moment, they realize that the bread-breaker is so much more than what they’d thought. He is the Son of God!

And now it starts to make sense, doesn’t it? There are two kinds of meat: one is just bread. If you eat some today you’ll get hungry later and if you leave it out long it’ll mold and eventually be thrown away. But there’s a “bread” that never goes away and keeps a man full forever. It gives him everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

This everlasting bread comes from the Son of Man because He has pleased the Father. The Father has approved of Him:

John 6:28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?
John 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
But this bread cannot be separated from the Giver. “I am the Bread of life.” There’s no pleasing the Father on your own. We must go to Christ. We must believe on His name and partake of His flesh and blood; we must be united to Him and co-heirs with Him. Then we’ll find the everlasting sustenance and never really die. Then we’ll find the well of life springing up inside us so we’ll never be thirsty again.

Often times a Pastor a Christian will tell a lost person or a new Christian we need the meat of the Bible, and they will be confused. It is not literal food, it is the spiritual food. We need it to grow, just as meat for our body, without it we will die. If we are truly saved and never read the word of God we will not grow or please the Father. He didn’t tell us to read and study his word just in case we needed something to do. This was something to do before the rest of our daily work. If you have never read the Bible start in John and Psalms.

THE BIBLE STANDS
The Bible stands like a rock undaunted
‘Mid the raging storms of time;
Its pages burn with the truth eternal,
And they glow with a light sublime.
The Bible stands tho’ the hills may tumble,
It will firmly stand when the earth shall crumble;
I will plant my feet on its firm foundation,
For the Bible stands,
The Bible stands.
The Bible stands like a mountain tow’ring
Far above the works of man;
Its truth by none ever was refuted,
And destroy it they never can.
The Bible stands tho’ the hills may tumble,
It will firmly stand when the earth shall crumble;
I will plant my feet on its firm foundation,
For the Bible stands,
The Bible stands.
The Bible stands and it will forever,
When the world has passed away;
By inspiration it has been given,
All its precepts I will obey.
The Bible stands tho’ the hills may tumble,
It will firmly stand when the earth shall crumble;
I will plant my feet on its firm foundation,
For the Bible stands,
The Bible stands.
The Bible stands tho’ the hills may tumble,
It will firmly stand when the earth shall crumble;
I will plant my feet on its firm foundation,
For the Bible stands,
The Bible stands.
The Bible stands every test we give it,
For its Author is divine;
By grace alone I will expect to live it,
And to prove it and make it mine.
The Bible stands tho’ the hills may tumble,
It will firmly stand when the earth shall crumble;
I will plant my feet on its firm foundation,
For the Bible stands,
The Bible stands.
